Text Box: For history buffs, Kenwood Oaks Guest House is just 20 minutes from historic downtown Sonoma, and less than 10 minutes from Jack London’s famed London Ranch in the nearby quaint hamlet of Glen Ellen.  Native Americans revered the surrounding areas for centuries, and remnants of their rich cultural lives can be found throughout the Valley of the Moon.   Walk, hike, ride a bike, or drive to enjoy these unique and special places.
For horseback riders, more than five nearby State and Regional Parks offer spectacular, scenic trail riding that can be enjoyed for days on end.  Park fees are nominal, and access to most is easy and flat.  Through Triple Creek Horse Outfit,       Jack London and Sugarloaf Ridge State Parks offer trail-riding trips utilizing their own strings of horses.
For mountain and road bikers, the action is non-stop.  Right from the property of Kenwood Oaks Guest House there are dozens of beautiful roadway rides where every level of skill and effort, from flat and easy to hilly and challenging, can be enjoyed.  Riding less than two gorgeous miles from your front door, one can easily access Annadel State Park, a well-known Mecca for mountain bikers.
If golf is your game, there are two fantastic courses less than 15 minutes away.  Try the beautiful setting of Oakmont Golf Club, with the stunning backdrop of Mt. Hood, or the gorgeous Sonoma National Golf Course (affiliated with the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn).  Both are open to the public and reservations are recommended.
Nature lovers will go wild exploring the bounty of Kenwood and the many nearby State and Regional Parks.  A wide and absolutely delightful variety of birds, deer, and other resident critters abound in the local oak woodlands and mixed evergreen forests.  Coyote, bobcats, mountain lions and a number of native reptiles reside in the high chaparral; a trek, but well worth it.  And our riparian areas even offer sightings of spawning steelhead and salmon in the Spring.
If you’re in the mood for a leisurely day around the pool or spa, the choices abound.  Nearby are  day spas in Glen Ellen, Kenwood and several others in downtown Sonoma.  Whatever your idea of relaxation and a true break from your daily life is, it can be found at Kenwood Oaks Guest House, or not too far away.  Ask us, and we will help you make arrangements for a truly memorable getaway in the Valley of the Moon.
